Food Mixers Page

The problems normally occuring with food mixers can be breifly listed as follows:

Motor may burn out. Nothing to do here, but replace it.

Safety Linkages may break. The obvious symptom here is when the machine suddenly refuses to function. There are various types of "trigger" safety mechanisms on food processors, the most common of which is a lug on the bowl lid which activates a microswitch.

Microswitches may fail.

Drive Belts have a habit of breaking. If this happens, the machine will still run, but nothing will turn.

Printed Circuit Boards may malfunction. In this instance, speed may be erratic, or machine will not function at all. This type of fault probably requires expert diagnosis.
